Quota

Your organization has a limit on the total CPUs that Trunk Runners can use at once. Trunk sets this limit for your organization. When your jobs reach the limit, Trunk holds each new job until CPUs become free. A held job is not lost. Trunk starts it when there is sufficient room.
If you need additional quota please reach out to support@trunk.io or over slack. We can generally accommodate quota increases within hours.

Priority branches

An organization admin or owner marks branches as priority in your CI settings. Trunk then gives a job on one of those branches two advantages:
  • When jobs wait to start, Trunk starts the priority jobs first.
  • When your organization is at its CPU limit, Trunk holds the other new jobs and continues to try the priority jobs. A priority job then gets CPUs as soon as they become free.
Use priority for the branches that must stay fast, such as your default branch, merge queue branches or a release branch.

Branch patterns

You give the priority branches as two lists of patterns: an include list and an exclude list. A branch has priority when a pattern in the include list matches it, and no pattern in the exclude list matches it. Trunk uses the same rules as GitHub rulesets.
